In New York
My flight went without a hitch yesterday. I was so relieved. I even went through Chicago. My days of flying usually consist of too much coffee, too many cookies, a bag of yogurt covered pretzels, and alternately being too hot and too cold. Oh... and the smells.
I got in before dark yesterday. I managed to score a 2007 Toyota Camry as my rental car. Mom and Dad: it is really nice. I highly recommend. The drive to my hotel was great. Everthing is in full bloom here. The hills are green and lush, and I got to see one of those beautiful syracuse sunsets.
Can I tell you guys a secret.... It is nowhere as beautiful as Oregon. Not even close.
Oh, and it was 92 degrees and HUMID when I got in... at 7:45pm. Yikes. It felt so weird to feel the humidity. The humidity in Oregon is very low (despite the rain). I am so spoiled. Thanks goodness I angled for a hotel with air conditioning. You'd be surprised. Many places around here have no air conditioning. I guess it is because of all the old buildings.
My hotel is awesome. By far the best place I have stayed here yet. No trees growing out of the walls! Actually it is a small place - 4 rooms, over a cool antique store. The building is OLD, and in downtown Skaneateles. I reall need to take more pictures of the town for you guys. It is really cute. My room is the "English Estate" room. Most of the walls are brick, and it is nicely updated. Did I mention I had a jacuzzi tub? Yes. I unpacked and jumped in. It was lovely. It got me all relaxed. I then struggled with the internet access, watched some tube, and finally fell asleep around midnight. Let me tell you. 6am came very early this morning. And 6am translates to 3am to my body.
