Going to the Volcano

Bucky spent the night last night over at James and my house. We had a nice time just hanging out and chatting.

James, Dad, Bucky, and I went up to Mt St Helens today. I never get tired of that place. I see different things each time I go up there, and I just can't get over how insane looking it is. It is also interesting seeing people's reaction to it. When you are standing at the observation deck up at the sugar bowl it is neat to look around at people. Some are in total tourist mode and think it is one of things they should see (like Mt Rushmore or Times Square), some are bored, and some are really moved.

There was lots of ash blowing around up there, and visability was really bad. We had a great time and messed around in the visitor centers. We stopped at the sediment dam on the way back down. I had always wanted to stop, but it is kind of isolated and creepy down there. The sediment dam was built to keep all the junk from totally spreading down the river. We snaked our way along the bank of the river and came up to the base of the dam. It was awesome. I love damn dams anyway. Afterwards we met back over at mom and dad's apartment for another yummy dinner of mom's cooking.
