Friday with Mom

I went down to McMinnville today to hang with Mom. I went by work in the morning, then we met up and hit the local McMinnville hot spots. We ate breakfast at the McMenamin's Grand Hotel downtown. They have a patio on the roof that you can eat on, they actually have rooms for rent, they have a basement pub, and they have the convetional hotel eatery. The interior was classic McMenamins - very cool.

After breakfast we went shopping in town and walked up and down checking out shops, and meeting some cool "shop dogs". We stopped at a local market which had the coolest, cheapest, stuff. They were like a natural food store, but they had it all. They also had an awesome deli/cafe area. We got some waters and sat out at the tables on the sidewalk. Downtown McMinnville is SO cute!

We they went to a neat used clothing (and everything else store) that was like a slightly upscale goodwill... it did not smell as bad. I got some sweaters. Then we went to WinCo. We have one up in Portland, but it is tre' nasty. The one down at mom's... well the people are still a bit freaky, but the store had some weird neat crap. I found my favorite protien bars for 1/3 the price of anywhere else. And they had the most AMAZING bulk foods section. You know... the usual, grains, seeds, candies, but also loose tea bags, eyeball chocolates, and porkrinds? Wow. It was fun!!!
