Planting!

Mom and Dad came up yesterday afternoon, and helped me put in some plants... and take out a couple of my favorites from the rental house! Mom and Dad got us a Star Magnolia for housewarming... it is so pretty. Mom also got a Rose of Sharon from her neighbor. I took the bottle brush tree, witches broom bush, and a cutting of the wysteria from the yard. Of course we dug up Granny's rose which we brought from Knoxville. Its big and healthy. I have a 5 foot tall weeping pussy willow that I have yet to put in. It is hard to decide where to put all of them since we already have such a great yard.

We haven't bought the 10 arborvitae that we are going to put along one side of the backyard. There are already a few on that side that serve as a nice screen, but not quite enough. We also need to get a few of the fast growing laurel for the other side of the backyard. We got a house on a large lot so it is not as important as if we had gotten a house on a tenth of an acre, but it would be nice to make the yard private. It already has a good start.
