Go East Young Girl!

Ths weekend we loaded up the dogs and headed east - well more like out the central oregon. We went over to the Dalles and then down to the town of Antelope, over to John Day fossil beds, up to the town of Fossil, and finally made it to the painted hills. We got there around sunset, and it was awesome! The colors really popped. It was so nice. The drive was great. It was like passing through a ton of different geologies. There was desert, lava rock grasslands, forests... it was insane.

The Dalles was not at all what I expected. It was kinda like a sprawling industrial town. We came over a hill and boom... there it was. There were some nice huge lots filled with stacked 2x4's. It was pretty cool. Antelope was well... kind of a blip on the map, but the funny part was that we saw no antelope but a herd of deer! Along the way we kept crossing over the John Day River, which was really pretty. The fossil park was neat. The town of Fossil was also small. There... however we saw a herd of antelopes.
