Our first Leg
Mom and I left out from Indianapolis after having breakfast with Dad and Jim. We headed west and ended up going through Bloomington IL. So we stopped off and saw mama for a little while which was nice. We then got back on the road and ventured into Iowa. Mom and I were both so surprised when we saw it. It was really pretty all the way through. There were lots of corn and wheat fields, but the land was rolling and beautiful. The houses were huge and pretty, with well kept barns and buildings. We could tell that the farms were very large and prosperous. It was amazing to see at sunset. We stopped off at a bunch of places, and had a great time. We went to an outlets mall – of course – in Williamsburg Iowa, an antique store, and we stopped at a dutch windmill in this little town which was really strange. We met a nice cat there, and no he did not make his way into the car! After dark we rolled into Sioux City Iowa. It looked really neat at night. The downtown was bright and lit up, there was a cool bridge that was illuminated with blue lights, and there was a large casino on the river. We drive through to North Sioux City South Dakota and spent the night. We ended up going about 720 miles that first day, but I was happy to get so much behind us.
I have TONS of pictures, but I'll have to get to them later. Sorry gang!
