More exploration
Well I was going to stay in today, but I got up and the sun was out. It was so pretty I thought I should definitely not waste it inside watching the boob-tube. I watched the weather channel, and they said the snow band had moved north - so I went south. I decided to do some parking lot driving, so I found a good snowy lot and started playing. Being a southern gal, I was told I needed to practice my moves in a controlled situation. What a great excuse to play! I did tons of donuts in 5 inches of snow, corrected my slides, and braked with wild abandon. I only thought I was stuck once. It was great fun!!! I went through downtown to head south, and I stopped by one of the harbors in Syracuse. It was so nice.
I then went down to Lafeyette, Cortland, Wesley Point and Binghamton. The roads were at worst a little damp in places once I got out of town. I was very close to PA and NJ, but I thought I'd save NJ for another day. I saw some neat things and some great buildings, but it was too cold and windy to walk around and take photos. I took some in Syracuse before I headed out, but I lost the urge later!
I found another good bagel place this morning - pumpkin bagels - yum! What is my new obsession with pumpkin things lately? I also found a european grocery store with lots of weird meats, cheeses, pastries, and candies. Hey dad- there is a place near my apartment that made me think of you - it is called the Hot Haus. They have every kind of weiner imaginable. It was kind of terrifying.
There is this website about Syracuse, its history, buildings, and neighborhoods. Check it out - Syracuse then and now. It is really neat.
I keep hearing from people that you all are enjoying my blog. I'm glad, I enjoy doing it.
