That's interesting...

But somehow I don't trust that it is "coated to protect against germs". Does that mean they recognize that alot of people push down on the handle with their foot, and this would make them use their hand to flush "liquid waste"?

Jim... this one is for you

Refilling the self cleaning potty

I like the concept of these things, but at the same time it is terrifying. You pay. You go in. You do your thing. You leave. It washes down the inside. What would happen if you accidentally got stuck or it malfunctioned?

I think Paul said it looks like a huge pile of poop.

It was kinda swanky... probably the nicest hotel I've stayed in to date.

San Jose Civic Auditorium

It is a cool building where some of the conference activities took place.

San Jose Convention Center

This is where our conference was held in San Jose.

California bound

I have an action packed week planned. I've flown into San Jose, and I'll be staying here for four days for the conference. It was the annual ACM Human-Computer Interaction Design conference. So you can imagine a bunch of little crazy people like myself running around. Scary... I know! Hopefully I will be able to see a bunch of people I haven't seen in awhile. After the conference I will be spending the next four days with Heather. We'll stay in San Francisco for awhile then go down to Sunnyvale to spend time with her family... my second family!

I heart Ben too

Someone (Joanna?) had written "I heart Ben" in the dirt of this little ford, so Jim wrote "I heart Ben too".

Boxes

Jim did some unpacking while I was gone!

Home for less than 48 hours

I got back from NY safe and sound this afternoon. I'll only be home for a short time, but I really needed to spend some time here to re-group. I have spent the past 2 weeks out of town, and I'll be gone again next week. I am glad I get to see Jim and the dogs. It will be nice to just run around and do normal things... just Jim and I out on the town.

I am excited about next week though. I'm going to San Jose for an ACM SIGCHI conference for part of the week, and then I am spending four blissful days with Heather in San Francisco! The conference should be really good. I'll get to see the cool things people in my profession are doing, do some networking, and do some hobnobbing. I'll also get to see some friends and colleagues I haven't seen in awhile which will be nice.

There's Mul

No Muldoone was hurt in the taking of this photo! When I let him go he just came back for more.

We had a good weekend with Kate. It was a great weekend! Our last stop was at Crown Point. There are fabulous views of the Columbia River Gorge from there.
